Value

Oh yes! It’s end month and the beginning of a new month,a new chapter and a new lesson. It isn’t late to learn something or make the necessary change to your life. That brings me to this lesson that I have been pondering on:Value.
As an agribusiness manager I can only realise better profits if I add value to agricultural produce. In its raw form it doesn’t fetch much in the market.
Our lives are like the tomatoes and fruits we grow.Unless we add value our lives have no meaning.Value is anything that makes us better individuals every day. Ever spent your time with someone or doing something and after you’re through you feel spent?
Like some chakra was sucked from you? That is value reduction.Value addition does the exact opposite. It lifts you and edifies your life.Adding value is a deliberate action. It means spending your time with people who build you and doing things that add meaning to your life.
To add value you must forego a few things and people therefore make the hard choice and do it.Happy and value adding month of May!

Comparison

“Comparison is the thief of joy”~Unknown.
Sometimes in life we look at where we are and where our friends are and we get discouraged. We feel like we aren’t making any progress at all.In the long run we are tired, jealous and really unhappy.
This is what comparing our lives with others does to us.We ought to know that we have a similar destiny(Eternity) but different purposes. What I was wired to do is not what my sister was born to do.It’s that simple.
Instead of comparing ourselves with others we ought to cultivate self appreciation. In other words celebrate ourselves,we become our own man/woman crush. We have to learn to celebrate our small wins daily.
Milestones don’t have to be big to be relevant. They can be as small as not smoking three days, going for weeks without alcohol, memorizing scripture, losing a kilo in one week etc.The creator of the leopard is the same who made the chameleon.
It doesn’t matter the pace just keep moving and that’s how I end it.
” If you can’t fly,then run
  If you can’t run,then walk
  If you can’t walk,then crawl
  But whatever you do,
You have to keep moving forward.”~

Labouring in Vain

Psalm 127:1 Unless the LORD builds the house, the builders labor in vain. Unless the LORD watches over the city, the guards stand watch in vain.
Yesterday while cooking I remembered something that happened to me in 2012.After receiving an admission to the university and course of my choice I started wondering why I ever chose that little known university. Many people told me it was wise for me to study in the city so I applied for an interuniversity transfer to two of the largest universities in the country.
On the second day I was very tired and hungry as I walked through The University of Nairobi hunting for some director of the school I wanted. At that point what I had forgotten was that God had given me peace when I clicked the OK button when applying for the admission I already had.I was frustrated and two months later the universities turned my request down.
This is what I learnt:that I was labouring in vain because the Lord wasn’t part of it.It wasn’t His will.Already He had communicated through rest when He gave me an admission.Whatever else I was doing was my own works. So if the Lord isn’t present you will experience what I experienced.
With less than 10 days to complete my course,I am convinced without doubt that this was my Purpose on earth.I have had so much peace through university and I have no regrets whatsoever. This month and days to come, find out if what you’re engaging in is the plan of God.God communicates through peace and His Holy Spirit so listen to that small voice in your heart.
Where God is there’s rest and less struggle just alot of learning.
